Abstract
On the basis of analysis of soil-forming factors and soil survey in a typical geographical unit of Wuhan, the higher categories of soil types were identified by using Chinese Soil Taxonomy (revised proposal, 1995). The principles and descriptions of the soil series were discussed and the keys to the soil series of the surveying area were given.
