On the Continuum Relationship between Synecdoche,Mytonymy and Metaphor

Synecdoche has its own characters as a figure of speech and cognitive motivation.It should be distinguished from metonymy and metaphor though all of them are claimed to be some cognitive pattern.They reflect certain interaction between two different concepts which,however,bear different mental accessibility.And based on the different mental accessibility,synecdoche,metonymy and metaphor form a continuum.Further analysis reveals that synecdoche is a more basic thinking model and that synecdoche,metonymy and metaphor may interact effectively because metonymy and metaphor are synecdochically constructed.
