Abstract

Surge is one of the usual faults on supercharger of marine main engine.And the power of diesel engine is always raised by supercharging technique from waste steam turbine.This paper analyses the surge principle and causes for turbo charger firstly,introduces the process of trouble shooting in detail by the two surge failures of ABB VTR564D-32 exhaust turbocharger,and then gives views on daily maintenance.
