Abstract
Based on the theoretical analysis of control on traffic roundabout, taking the roundabout of Paris's Arc de Triomphe as a major research object,a fresh circular pattern for the vehicles is devised for the purpose of ordering and standardizing the traffic. The model introduces traffic signal system into the roundabout optimization strategy, including signal control for major trunk roads and sub trunk roads. The signal control for major trunk roads efficiently avoids the traffic jam caused by overload and secondary parking, meanwhile the signal control for sub trunk roads separates the peak traffic in roundabout and entering traffic,so that the traffic capacity of roundabout is optimized.
