Clinical analysis on 6 cases of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of large-volume whole lung lavage in the treatment of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.Method Retrospective study of 6 patients identified by biopsy through bronchoalveolar lavage with domestic literature published were reviewed.Focused analysis on the anaesthesia administration,the methods of lung lavage,the efficacy was evaluated according to the improvement of symptoms,amelioration of chest radiograph or chest CT scan and the changes of pulmonary function and artery blood gas(ABG) analysis.Results After lavage,the symptoms,pulmonary function and ABG were markedly improved,the chest radiographs showed dissipation of lung consolidation.No severe complications observed in 6 cases.Conclusion Large-volume lung lavage is an effective and safe therapeutic method in the treatment of PAP.
