Abstract
The methacrylic polymer/ Montmorillonite(PMAA/MMT) nanocomposite was prepared via monomer in situ polymerization and the effect of initiator dosage on nanocomposite structure was discussed. The structures of modified MMT and nanocomposite were characterized by X-ray Diffraction,Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FT-IR) and solid Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR).The results show that there are interactions between sodium methacrylic and MMT.Methacrylic acid or sodium methacrylic has been polymerized between MMT layers and the methacrylic polymer/MMT nanocomposite formed belongs to intercalated nanocomposite. The influence of initiator dosage on interlayer space is not large.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
