Abstract
The adsorption behavior of phenol with 717 strongly basi anion exchange resin were investigated.Experimental results show that the maximum adsorption ability of 717 resin occurs at pH = 10~13.The adsorption behavior of 717 resin for phenol obeys the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms. At temperature of 293~313 K and the adsorption of phenol of 220~260 mg/g,the changes of adsorption enthalpy is-13.69~-12.02 kJ/mol,the free energy is-7.02~-7.21 kJ/mol,the entropy of adsorption is-22.76~-15.37 J/(K·mol).The adsorption kinetics data well fit the Lagergren pseudo-second order rate equation, the adsorption rate constant is 8.5×10-4~2.74×10-3 g/(mg·min) and the adsorption activity energy is 44.1 kJ/mol.The statically saturated adsorption capacity is 399.8 mg/g(4.253 mmol/g) at 303 K.Up to 99% of the phenol adsorbed in the resin can be easily and quickly eluted with a 0.05 mol/L HCl solution.
