Analysis of Volatile Flavor Components in Essential Balm by Headspace Extraction-GC/MS

Abstract

Volatile components in essential balm were analyzed by headspace extraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(HS-GC/MS).The results show that HS-GC/MS is effective in analysis of essential balm.11 components are separated and identified by comparing their mass spectra with those contained in the Nist mass spectral library and in some references literatures.Main components are butane,camphor,methyl salicylate,oil of eucalyptus,eugenol etc.,others are α-pinene,β-pinene,β-myrcene and so on
