Abstract
Objective:To examine the effects of leflunomide on urine, renal vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) expression of adriamycin nephropathy rats.Methods:56 clean male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group(saline group),nephropathy(ADR group),and treatment group(LEF group). To establish adriamycin rat models, the rats in each group were killed in the first two weeks, four weeks, six weeks;the urine and kidney were taken and analyzed by the ELISA method. Results:For nephropathy group at second weeks, 4th weeks,6th weeks,VEGF in urine and renal tissue were significantly higher than those in normal control group(P0.01);and all the amount of urinary protein was positively correlated with 24h(r=0.81;0.63;P0.01);Leflunomide(LEF) intervention group were significantly lower than the index of nephrosis group;the difference was statistically significant(P0.01).Conclusion:Leflunomide has a protective effect on rats with adriamycin kidney damage, and its mechanism may be achieved by reducing the expression of VEGF.
