A Comment on the Thought of Yongzheng, an Emperor of Qing Dynasty

Emperor Yongzheng lived in the period between Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong. The period under the reign of Yongzheng was not so long, but was the critical transition period of peace and prosperity of Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. In accordance with the lax administration of the government officials and the country's decadence in Kangxi's remaining years, Yongzheng began with strengthening the administration of government officials and advocated the ideas of combining strictness with lenience in administration. In dealing with national relation, Yongzheng favored equal treatment and peaceful coexistence. The ruling period of Yongzheng laid a foundation for the prosperity of the Qianlong Dynasty.
