Abstract
Objective To evaluate PACS (p icture archiving and communication systems) in the teaching of medical imaging. Methods Large screen multimedia reading room and electronic study room were built with GE PACS and Angel RIS(radiology information system)and end-term picture-word work-station. Pictures and words of PACS were unloaded directly for teaching and teaching image bank and test image bank. Results Large screen multimedia reading room, classroom, and electronic study room were built successfully. Valuable information of nearly 5 000 patients in the teaching imaging bank of PACS was accumulated. Classic medical imaging teaching mode was changed. Real-time and multi-mode teaching were realized, and teaching effect was greatly improved. The PACS-based teaching mode was accepted pleasantly by students. Conclusion PACS is very useful to improve the teaching quality of medical imaging and it is worth to popularize.
