Empirical Study on Main Factors of Farmers' Income Growth

The farmers' slow income growth has become a striking problem during the development of agriculture and rural economy in recent years.Using the time serial data of 1995-2008,the authors make an empirical study based on the main factors of farmers' income growth in this paper.Results indicate that productive income is the main source of the farmers' income based on the principal component analysis of the structure of income,and productive income is composed of agricultural income and non-agricultural income.Regression model of correlation variables is set up and the result shows that the effective approaches to increasing farmers' income include adjusting the agricultural structure,improving the structure of finance support,increasing the support of farmers' education,and speeding up rural labor transfer.At last the countermeasures and suggestions are provided.
