Empirical Study on the Factors of the Farmers' Income in Southwest Frontier Region of China

Based on the micro-data sets of 13 counties,273 villages and 2774 households of Honghc Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province,this article designed a two-level household income function model,analyzed empirically the influence factors on the household income.Seen from the result of empirical studies,it find that at first they are original value of productive fixed assets of the farmer, production and management inputs and the area of arable land that have significant positive effects on the farmers' income.Second,labor quality of human capital for farmers has a positive significant effect,while the amount of labor has negative significant effects.Third,the external environments,where farmers are living in(such as distance from markets and the level of economic development) have a greater impact on farmers' income.Finally policy recommendations to increase household income are suggested.
