Abstract

The arch dam is intended to be selected type of dam at shigaoshan Reservoir in Lingshi county of Shanxi Provine.The demand of geological condition for arch dam is higher.This paper introduces the geological condition and the main geological problems in detail at the upstream dam site(recommended dam site)of this reservoir,assesses these problems,and provides reliable basis for project design and construction.
