Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of right ventricular Tei index in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods 52 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and 30 volunteers were involved in this study. The traditional ultrasonic parameters included the right atrium horizontal path, the right ventricle horizontal path, the right ventricle anterior wall thickness, pulmonary main artery diameter, arterial systolic pressure and Tei index were measured. Results In 52 cases, there were 16 cases with obvious cardiopulmonary disease by ultrasound signs(A group),24 cases with pulmonary artery high blood pressure and without obvious ultrasound changes(B group),and 12 cases without obvious ultrasound changes and pulmonary artery high blood pressure(C group). The Tei index of right ventricle in the three groups was significantly different from the control. Conclusions Tei index is accurate and simple in estimating right ventricular function in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
