A clinical analysis of procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids in the management of severe hemorrhoids

Objective To evaluation the value of PPH technique on management of hemorrhoids.Methods Ninety-five cases of Ⅲ～Ⅳ degree hemorrhoids were subjected to surgical treatment by PPH(n=60) and conventional surgery(n=35) separately.The condition of treatment during and after operation was observed.The operative time,hospital stay (days),administration of analgetic and follow-up data were compared between two groups.Results The patients in the two groups got satisfactory recovery from symptoms.In PPH group,the operative time and hospital stay were shorter,postoperative pain was milder than in conventional surgery group.PPH group had less severe complications than in conventional surgery group.Conclusion The short-term effect of PPH in the treatment of severe hemorrhoids was superior to that of conventional surgical procedure.
