Study on calculation of local scour at bridge pier

Abstract

Different equations were used to analyze the local scour at bridge pier of several bridges.The results showed that there's a huge difference among results of different equations with different value of parameters.Therefore,in order to obtain reliable result of local scour depth during analysis local scour at bridge pier,reasonable equations and their parameters must be determined by actual situation of bridge and river.
