Abstract
The Yellow river passing-through work of the Middle Route Project of South-to-North Water Transfer is located at wandering reach of the Yellow river and the river regime evolves complicatedly. The research results on the main issues as the river regime and flood control at the site of Yellow river passing-through work demonstrate that the river regime of the river reach near Gubaizui is comparably stable and is favorable for construction of the Yellow river passing-through project, it is feasible to narrow the river width at the site of the work to 2.8~3.2 km. Among the various construction schemes of the Yellow river passing-through project, the tunnel scheme has less impact on the river regime. Under various unfavorable conditions, the maximum scoured water depth is 9.48 to 11.6 m if the Yellow river tunnel-passing-through scheme is put into execution while the maximum scoured water depth is 16.41 to 24.12 m for the Yellow river aqueduct-passing-through scheme.
