The Changes of Hong Kong's Political Environment in the Past Twenty Years

Since the 1980s, dramatic changes have taken place in Hong Kong's political environment. These changes have found expression mainly in the following: from a linear political system to a multi-dimensional political system, from “an administrative regime without political parties to a political system with political parties, from a non-participant political culture to a participant political culture, and from an autocratic politics to a democratic politics. Thus, a special and complicated political environment has emerged in Hong Kong.
