Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine on the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Methods 63 cases with acute cerebral infarction were randomly divided into control and treatment groups. Patients in control group (n=31) were treated by routine therapy, and patients in treatment group (n=32) were treated by combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Xuesaitong injection and Huanglianwendan decoction in acute period) and routine therapy, with a course of 2 weeks in two groups. Results The total effective rate in treatment group (93.70%) was markedly higher than that in control group (80.65%, P0.01). Conclusion Combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine could effectively treat acute cerebral infarction.
