Abstract
Objective To contrast the therapeutic effect and safety of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL)and ureteroscopy pneumatic lithotripsy(PL)in the treatment of distal ureteral calculi. Methods To investigated the clinical material of the treatment of distal ureteral calculi,190 patients with ESWL,185 patients with PL.Result In ESWL group 60.5% patients were successful on the first lithotripsy,96.2% in PL group;following ESWL 66.3% patients become stone free in 4 weeks, after PL the stone free rate was 98.3%.Conclusion For the treatment of distal ureteral calculi, ureteroscopy pneumatic lithotripsy has a higher stone free rate than ESWL.
