Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and side effects of PL and ESWL for the treatment of distal ureteral calculi. Methods To investigate the clinical material of the treatment of distal ureteral calculi for 364 patients by PL and ESWL during June 2004 and May 2008. Results The total efficacy rate of the PL group and ESWL group were 92.52% and 94.16% respectively. The difference had no great significance (P0.05). Conclusions ESWL is the first treatment of choice for patients with distal ureteral calculi than PL.
