Prevention effect of Jianpi Huoxue decoction on acute alcoholic liver injury in rats

Abstract
Objective:To study the effect of Jianpi Huoxue decoction on acute alcoholic liver injury in rats.Methods:Thirty-six Sprague Dawley rats were allocated to the control group,acute alcoholic liver injury model group and Jianpi Huoxue decoction group.Rats in model and Jianpi Huoxe decoction groups were administered with alcohol by gastric perfusion for 5 days to reproduce the model of acute alcoholic liver injury.Jianpi Huoxue decoction was administered by gastric perfusion.At the end of experiments,rats were sacrificed to collect the blood and liver samples.Activities of serum alaline aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST)and hepatic gamma-glutamyltransferase(γ-GT),and amount of hepatic triglycerides(TG)were determined.Hemotoxin and Eosin staining and oil red O staining were performed to observe pathological changes in liver samples.Results:Jianpi Huoxue decoction decreased the ratio of liver/body weight,reduced activities of serum ALT,AST and hepatic γ-GT,decreased hepatic TG amount significantly;alleviate the deposition of fatty in liver,ameliorate the pathological change of hepatocytes significantly.Conclusion:Jianpi Huoxue decoction has good prevention effect on acute alcoholic liver injury in rats.
