Abstract
Modernity is a core theme of sociology, and one principle thread of permeating through classical sociology, modern sociology and post-modern sociology. Among sociologists of studying modernity, Giddens developed a school of his own. This article summarizes Giddens's modernity thoughts from four aspects, and briefly analyses his standpoint, method and perspective of researching on modernity.
