On the Essence of Education in the Days of Ant-essentialism

In the view of dialectical materialism,essence is the main and basic attribute,nature and feature of a thing,and essence is generative,various,developmental and changeable.What anti-essentialism refutes and can refute are the outlooks on the essence of idealism and mechanical materialism.Education is not an objective thing,but a general term of a class of objective things.It is a big family.We ought to explore the essence of education from three aspects: content,process and intention or purpose.In terms of the process,education means indoctrinating,training,teaching,guiding,enlightening(criticizing and liberating),knowing,developing,learning,discovering,constructing,living,interacting,dialogue,understanding and playing games,etc.The essence of education is generative and developmental,which enjoys family resemblance.
