Abstract
WANG Xitong,a local gentry,grasped the chance of promotion when YUAN Shikai asked him to help business industry during his hermitage in Zhangde. Although he angered YUAN Shikai due to his dissuasion of not suppressing the revolution,but in terms of how to deal with the relationship with the revolutionary party,YUAN Shikai was still very attached to WANG Xitong's political views after the Wuchang uprising,thus WANG Xitong became YUAN Shikai's personal advisor. When Qing emperor abdicated,YUAN Shikai insisted on the restoration of the monarchy,thus WANG Xitong vowed to ignore politics,engaged in industrial and commercial.
