Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) and the left ventricular diastolic dysfunction. Methods Sixty patients with stable COPD(COPD group) and 20 healthy control subjects(control group) received echocardiography and pulmonary function test. Results Left ventricular isovolumic relaxation time and mitral deceleration time were increased(both P 0.05),and E/A was decreased(P 0.05) in COPD group,as compared to those in control group. There was no significant difference in interventricular systolic thickness, posterior wall thickness, left ventricular systolic diameter, left ventricular diastolic diameter between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion COPD may be related to the decreased left ventricular diastolic function.
