Effect on eradication of Helicobacter pylori with esomeprazole, clarithr-omycin and amoxicillin triple therapy

AIM: To observe the clinic effect on the eradication of Helicobacter pylori(Hp) with esomeprazole , clarithromycin; amoxicillin triple therapy to seek the short-term and effective treating project. METHODS: One hundred and one Hp positive patients were randomly divided into 3 groups. Treatment group 1(n=31) was treated with esomeprazole 20 mg, bid, amoxicillin 1.0 g, bid and clarithromycin 0.5 g, bid, po×3 d. Treatment group 2 (n=35) was treated with the same medication and dosage as treatment group 1×7 d. Control group 3 (n=35) was treated with omeprazole 20 mg, bid, amoxicillin 1.0 g, bid, clarithromycin 0.5 g, bid, po×7 d. At 1 mo after treatment, the treated patients were evaluated by 13C-UBT. RESULTS: The Hp eradication rates of three groups(1,2,3) were 81 %, 86 %, 83 %(P0.05).C/E were 2.52, 5.75, 6.01. The C/E of treatment group 1 was significantly lower than that of treatment group 2 and control group. CONCLUSIONS: Esomeprozle, clarithromycin and amoxicillin triple therapy is a safe and high-effective project on the eradication of Hp. There days therapy is more short and economic.
