Abstract

Objective To study tramadol preventing shivering after epidural anesthesia. Methods 60 cases of epidural anesthesia were randomly divided into there groups: group Ⅰ (tramadol, n =20), group Ⅱ (pethidine, n =20), group Ⅲ (normal saline solution, n =20). Record shivering after epidural anesthesia, the changes of SpO 2 within beginning 30 min, and complications. Results Only one case shivered in group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ, but 15 cases in group Ⅲ. SpO 2 decreased obviously in group Ⅱ ( P 0.05), but SpO 2 in group Ⅰ were not significantly different compared with group Ⅲ. Conclusion Tramadol used after epidural anesthesia can pre venting shivering.
