Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the effects of intramuscular injection with tramadol and droperidole on sedation and nursing methods during prevention of shivering under epidural anesthesia.METHODS 60 elderly patients operated on lower abdomen, lower limb and vertebralcolumn under epidural anesthesia, were randomly divided into two groups:group T(n=30) and group C(n=30).The patients in group T were injected intramuscularly with tramadol 1.5mg·kg-1 and droperidole 5mg;in group C,0.9%NaCl 4mL half an hour before epidural anesthesia. All patients were observed to find out the rate and degree of sedation and of shivering in the course of anesthesia and operation.Temperature in operation room was kept from 24 to 26 degree during the operations.Fluids and bloods infused into patients were preheated for 15 minutes in water with 35~40℃.RESULTS The rate of effective sedation in group T was 100%,which was higher than 23.3% in group C(P0.05).The rates of shivering in group T was 3.3 percent, and in group C were 26.7 percent(P0.05).CONCLUSION Intramuscular injection with tramadol and droperidole could be a kind of effective sedative drugs, and help to prevent shivering under epidural anesthesia.Nurses in operation room should pay attention to keep the enviroment warm for patients.
