Abstract

A new chromogenic reagent 2-hydroxy-4-sulfamylbenzen-3-(4-Nitrophenyl)-Triazene(HSNPT) has been synthesized and desoribed in this paper.A color reaction of Cu(Ⅱ) with HSNPT was investigated. The experimental results showed that,in the presence of the surface active agent TX-100 and in a Na_2B_4O_(7-)NaOH medium at pH 11.0,Cu(Ⅱ) reacts with HSNPT to form a light yellow complex. The molar ration of Cu(Ⅱ) to HSNPT is1∶3.The molar absorbtivity of the complex is e=1.60×10~5L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1) at the determination wavelength of 535 nm.The Beer's law is well obeyed in the range of 0~12μg /25mL for copper at the determination wavelength. This method has been successfully applied to determine trace amounts of copper in the alloy samples with satisfactory results.
