Abstract
Wellek holds that poetry must be metaphoric.With the participation of metaphoric image in the presentation of poetic ideorealm10,poetry is given the special spirit and beauty of poetic metaphor.In translating the classical Chinese poetry,efforts should be made to,from the perspective of cognition,get the clear recognition of poetic metaphor and the accurate interpretation of its meaning,which can then provide a translator with appropriate translating strategies in the hope that perfect presentation of poetic ideorealm can be realized.
