Abstract
Although the total amount of land resources in Shandong Province was relatively increased in recent years,but it tended to decrease as a whole.The per capita arable land area decreased faster,and the situation of land resource was not optimistic.So far,the total arable land changes around the city were different in the dynamic varying degrees.Dezhou was the best city,followed by Qingdao,Zaozhuang and Tai'an.Laiwu was in poor state in the dynamic balance of arable resource.The results of principal component analysis showed that economic the activities,population and the development of agricultural technology were main driving forces affecting the amount of cultivated land in Shandong Province,the population carrying capacity and the situation of food shortages in 2010 in Shandong were predicted based on the study.
