Abstract

OBJECTIVE To isolate the endophytic fungi from the five Dendrobium plants in Yunnan Province, to study its antibacterial activity, to obtain the five Dendrobium plants’s endophyte distribution. METHODS Endophytic fungi were isolated by flat-panel separation. Agar block method was used to obtain the strain for antibacterial activity screening.RESULTS From five Dendrobium plants, 155 isolated endophytic fungi were obtained. Forty-eight strains(30.97% of the total strains isolated)showed antibacterial activity on the test strains. CONCLUSION In five Dendrobium plants, a variety of endophytic fungi are existed, isolation and screening of endophytic fungi with antimicrobial activity are effective way to obtain antimicrobial natural products.
