玉台新咏(Yu Tai Xin Yong)and 文选(Wen Xuan)are both literary selections made in the Liang Dynasty (502 -557) by the Xiao brothers. who are usually regarded as leaders of two opposing literary schools. Yet a comparison of the two selections shows that some poetic works were included in either of them, which implies that the two schools really shared some aesthetic perspectives in common.
