This paper focuses on the writing and styles of Wang Yucheng's rhythmical prose.Wang's rhythmical prose connects back to antique and Han writing style and the fashion of Zhenyuan and Yuanhe periods.He inherits Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi and develops the rhythmical prose in Song Dynasty.His prose for royal document purpose is characterized in solemnity,grandness and elegance;his prose for report and correspondence characterized in briefness,neatness and vividness.His prose is also featured in rich allusions,ancient styles and original integration of historical materials.Wang Yucheng is the one who cultivate way for prose in Song Dynasties.His prose is the cornerstone of rhythmical prose in that period.
