Abstract

Objective: To establish a method for determination of camphor,menthol,borneol and methylsalicylate in Hongyao strapping.Method:Capillary gas chromatography was adopted.The chromatography separation was carried out with PEG-20M capillary column(0.25 μm × 0.25 mm × 30 m),using a flame ionization detector.The injector and detector temperature were set at 200 ℃.The column temperature was 160 ℃.n-Octanol was used as internal standard.The sample solution was prepared by distillation with essential oil collector.Result: The resolution and linearity of camphor,menthol,borneol and methylsalicylate were good under the chromatographic conditions.The average recoveries of camphor,menthol,borneol and methylsalicylate were 99.8%,100.3%,99.5%,99.7%.Conclusion:This method is simple,sensitive,accurate and has good repeatability for controlling the quality of camphor,menthol,borneol and methylsalicylate in Hongyao strapping.
