Abstract
We report on the zooplankton community characteristics, including species composition, species dynamics, and dominance from Dishui Lake, situated in Nanhui District.Samples were collected in the pelagic zone from Feb.2006 to Feb.2007.In total, 39 species of zooplankton were found, including 27 Rotifera, 10 Copepoda, and 2 Cladocera.Dominant zooplankton species are: Limnoithona sinensis, Brachionus rotundiformis complex, Hexarthra intermedia, Brachionus angularis and Synchaeta sp.. We observed striking seasonal changes in quantity and biomass of the dominant species, ranging from a maximum in July 2007, to a minimum in February 2006.
