Abstract
Morphology is one of the most important natural environment factors. With the development of GIS and RS techniques, Quantitative Morphologic Character Analysis advanced quickly. The paper takes the Lancang River basin as study area. Based the data collection of DEM and TM image, by technique apply of geographic information system and remote sensing image process system methods,Lancang River basin's morphological character parameters (such as slope, aspect, elevation etc.) and basic topography elements were distilled and mapped. Then physiognomy morphological character data were analyzed by statistics method application. As the result, integrated understand on Lancang River basin's natural character of location and quantity was achieved. The result also provided the necessary database for Lancang River basin's natural resources research and environment management in Yunnan mountain region.
