A Summary on BIM Application in Construction Industry

Abstract

BIM is the product of digital technology,which is triggering great changes in the construction industry. Based on literature research,this paper summarizes the application status of BIM technology and compares functions between each BIM tools. Finally,the key factors limiting the application of BIM in construction industry are discussed and the suggestions resolving these negative factors are given. This study will help construction project stakeholders to understand the capability of BIM technology,promote application of BIM in construction industry,and point out the research directions valuable for further study.
