OBSERVATION FOR THERAPY OF INTEGRATED TCM AND WESTERN MEDICINE ON HENOCH-SCHNLEIN PURPURA NEPHRITIS

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect for therapy of integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine on Henoch-Schnlein purpura nephritis. Methods: Thirty-two patients were divided into 2 groups randomly: 17 cases in the observation group and 15 cases in the control group. Corticosteroids, vitamin C and Dipyridamole were employed in the control group. Except routine treatment of western medicine, herbal recipe on Henoch-Schnlein purpura nephritis was employed in the observation group. After 4 weeks, proteinuria and red blood cell count in urine were measured. Results: In the observation group, the decrease of proteinuria and red blood cell count in urine were better than those in the control group (P0.01) and no side effect was found. Conclusion: Herbal recipe on Henoch-Schnlein purpura nephritis can improve the clinical effect of Henoch-Schnlein purpura nephritis.
