The Expression and Significance of CA15 -3 in Gastric Carcinoma

Abstract

S - P immunohistochemical technique is adapted to detect the expression of CA15 - 3 in gastric carcinoma tissues and paired normal gastric mucosa from 20 gastric cancer patients. The results indicates that CA15 - 3 protein is expressed in 15 cases of these 20 gastric carcinoma tissues, but no expression is found in normal gastric mucosa. There is a significant relationship between the expression of CA15 -3 protein and the differentiation degree,but no statistical relationship can be found between the expression of CA15 -3 protein and the stage or aggressive depth. These results suggest that the detection of CA15 -3 can be used as a guideline for gastric cancer patients'expectation.
