Abstract

DNA methylation is a kind of normal endogenous modified mode, which is fulfilled by DNA methylation transferase. The disorder of the gene methylation plays an important role in carcinogenesis because gene hypermethylation and hypomethylation can lead to silence of the tumor suppressor gene and activity of the oncogene. The article discusses the mechanism and effect of the abnormal methylation on the genes related to carcinomas.
