Abstract

As a book on historical criticism,Shi Tong completely summarizes and comments the historiography before the Tang Dynasty.However,compared with Sui Zhi,Shi Tong expresses its special ideas on the category of historical works.Its comprehension to the authorized history and other miscellaneous historical works reflects the historical thought of emphasizing the typical form in the historical works.
