Abstract

Under the neutral conditions,Free bromine can catalyze discoloration reaction of acidic chrome blue K with H 2 O 2.Based on this point,a novel catalytic spectrophotometric method to determine trace Br was proposed. The results show that the maximum absorption wavelength of the color solution is 522 nm,the linear range of the determination is 0.4 ~ 11.2μg / mL,and the detection limit is 0.321μg / mL.The method was used to determine bromine in the water with satisfactory results.
