Abstract

Objective To investigate the infection rate and the drug-sensitivity of mycoplasma among patients with sexually transmitted diseaseSTD in Shenzhen in 2004. Methods 505 cases of mycoplasma infection were analyzed retrospectively. Results Ages of most infected patients were between 20 and 40. Ureaplasma urealyticumUu was the main pathogen of nongonococcal urethritisNGU. The drug-sensitivity test of 9 antibiotics showed that the high sensitivity rates in minocycline doxycycline and clathyromycin were 89.11% 87.52% and 82.97% respectively. The high resistance rates in roxithromycin josamycin and azithromycin were 58.02% 42.57% and 40.20% respectively. The leading three sensitive drugs for Uu infection were clathyromycin minocycline and doxycycline. The leading three sensitive drugs for Mh infection were doxycycline minocycline and levofloxacin. The leading three sensitive drugs for Uu and Mh infection were doxycycline minocycline and ofloxacin. Conclusion The therapy of mycoplasma infection should be based on the result of mycoplasma-culture and its drug-sensitivity test. Minocycline doxycycline and clathyromycin may be used as the first choice for the treatment of mycoplasma infection in Shenzhen at present.
