Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of Fas and Caspase-3 in breast cancer tissue and explore development relations of Fas and Caspase-3 and breast cancer occurrence. Methods The human operation breast cancer tissues and relatively normal breast tissues were collected from surgical operation and the samples of 23 patients with breast cancer were analyzed by immunocytochemistry and computer imaging techniques. Results The results showed that in breast cancer tissue, the positive expressions of Fas was 47.3% and was significantly lower than that of normal breast tissues(86.9%),and there was a significant difference between them(P0.05).In breast cancer tissue, the positive expressions of Caspase-3 was 43.5% and was significantly lower than that of normal breast tissues(82.6%),and there was a significant difference between them(P0.05).Caspase-3 and Fas expression rates were associated with lymph node metastasis. There was a positive correlation between the expression of Fas and caspase-3 in breast cancer. Conclusion The reduced express of Fas and Caspase-3 caused Anti apoptotic mechanism of excessive activation of tumor and it may plays an important role in breast cancer occurrence and development.
