Abstract
The reacting condition and application of DCIPF and V(V) was studied. The results show that with the presence of CTMAB the color reagent react with V(V) and forms a stable blue complex in the medium of (CH 2) 6N 4-HCL. It remains stable for 4 hours at least. The apparent molar absorbancy index is 1.08×10 5L·mol -1·cm -1 and maximum absorption wavelength is at 568nm, Beer′s law is obeyed in the concentration range of 0~11μg/25mL for V(V). The proposed method has good sensitivity. It has been applied to the determination of trace amounts of V(V) in alloy steels and in the presence of Masking reagent with satisfactory results.
