Abstract

Objective:To investigate the synergistic effect of Xianglian lotion and miconazole nitrate against Candida albicans in vitro.Methods:C.albicans strains were cultured and isolated from vaginal secretions of patients with simple vulvovaginal candidiasis. The micro-broth dilution method was used to detect the MIC(Minimum inhibitory concentration) for 12 Candida albicans strains of the miconazole nitrate solution and Xianglian lotion under the condition of combined application and seperate application.Fractional inhibitory concentration index(FICI) was used to estimate the combination effect. Results:The mean MIC of miconazole nitrate solution and Xianglian lotion applied combinationally were(1.32±1.41)μg/mL and(1.59±1.62)mg/mL respectively, while the mean MIC of two drugs applied seperately were(7.92±6.13)μg/mL and(5.78±4.66)mg/mL respectively. Conclusion:The Xianglian lotion acts synergistically with miconazole nitrate solution in the antibacterial activity against C.albicans in vitro.
