Abstract
The graphite power is wetted in water with the aid of anionic and non-ionic surfactants, and oxidized by H_2SO_4 and K_2Cr_2O_7 solutions to improve the bonding strength between coating metal and graphite powder.AgNO_3 and PdCl_2 solutions are used to activate the graphite power, and electroless copper and nickel platings are performed on the surface of the graphite powder. The conductibility of graphite powder can be improved by plating copper on it,and its magnetic conductibility can also be improved by further plating nickel on the copper coating. The process conditions for the electroless copper plating are discussed. A nickel plated graphite powder good in electromagnetic conductibility, low in density and price is developed.
